CVS... Oh how I love you.

I was really wanting to stop by CVS after work to score the Nivea deal before it ends tomorrow. When I walked in, Lana (an awesome cashier), told me that the 5/30 deals started a day early! Yipeeeee!!! I scored a major deal on some makeup..... Here's how it broke down:

* 2 CoverGirl Compacts
* 6 CoverGirl mascaras
* 2 CoverGirl concealers
* 6 Nivea Lipcare

I scored all of it for $4.26, but I ended up with $5 in ECB's. Nice. Gotta love CVS! Thanks Lana and Kaley!!!

Stockpiling....

Ok, I've had sooooo many people call me a "hoarder", tell me I have "issues", or just call me plain "crazy". I don't think it's any of the three at all. I buy when things are on sale, and only then if I have a coupon. As a result, I end up with name-brand products for free or really close to free. So, I stockpile. I think that one of the biggest keys to "couponing" is organization and building your "stockpile". Every family has a different need and the trick is to figure out what is a priority for you. My closets have become pantries, and my laundry room is now a walk-in-mini-supermarket.
A few pointers... keep it organized, set a limit and a price and have fun!! I love trying to snag a super cheap deal! It's so nice to have great products in our home and know that we can afford them and that we aren't going to the poor house just to pay for them.
If you are interested in learning all the tricks of couponing, then feel free to contact me and I will let you know when I am having my next Coupon Workshop. If you would like to host a workshop, message me for details.

Calling all "couponers".....

I wanted to post this link because I think it's REALLY important for all of the "couponers" in this area to put some heat on our local WalMarts. Collin @ Hip2Save has been doing a series called "You In Bloom" and this is the result of a recent survey that she did reguarding coupon policies. Please read her post and then contact WalMart coorporate! This will make such a difference in the way we coupon in rural areas... all of you know how I feel about "run-ins" with management and cashiers that don't quite "get" coupons.

(Thanks Hip2Save!)

Another great run to the local CVS.....

So, I ran by the CVS on my way to work hoping to score some more free bodywash. This is how my transaction worked out:

* 2 Old Spice body washes
* 2 packs of Huggies Little Swimmers
* 2 packs of peanut M&M's
* 1 Old Spice deodorant

Total oop: $1.16, I got back $8 in ECB's... Yay!!! Luuuuuv me some CVS deals. I'll post a picture later because I think I'm going to run by there a little later a do a couple of Nivea transactions. ;)
*Update*******

* 4 Nivea body washes
* 1 box of Benadryl (Keith is eat-up with poison ivy)

My total oop on the second trip was $3.23, plus I ended up with $5 in ECB's... double yay!!! I have to give a BIG 'ol shout-out to Kaley, the most awesome cashier @ CVS... she's so great! She is always so patient with me and my crazy transactions. Luv her.

CVS Nivea Deal...

CVS is still running their Nivea deal: Spend $15 get $5 in ECB's. What a sweet deal when you pair it with the BOGO q that is on page 31 in the All You magazine that just came out @ Walmart. Also, there is a $1/1 Nivea Lip treatment printable. Pair that q up with the BOGO in the All You and you come out pretty sweet! (They are on sale at CVS for $2.99 right now)

New deals and coupon policy updates...

So I went to Ingles yesterday to get a few things and was once again surprised at the register. Evidently, Ingles no longer will accept "printable internet coupons for free items,and this includes bogo". This is something new, and it only adds to my ever-growing frustration with Ingles and the inconsistency. Let me know if you have any issues/ solutions to the coupon issues.
There are some great new match-ups for Walmart on hip2save. Be sure and check the site before you head out for a Walmart run this weekend.

I'm going to check into our local Rite-Aid's to see if we have the sweet diaper deal they are offering... you can read about that, here.

Let me know if you guys find any sweeter deals......

Blogging????

So, day one. I have thought and thought and thought about starting a blog. With a little help from my incredible sis-n-law, it starts. I'm excited to post my daily deals and finds, along with some little pointers on finding coupons and the excitement of "bargain hunting".

Today I ended up at the Dollar General (in Appalachia... the cashiers in BSG hate me). I spent $12.31, saved $15.00 and this is what I purchased:

* 6 bags of T.G.I.Friday's Cheddar Potato Skins snacks
* 4 64oz. bottles of Welch's 100% grape juice
* 2 Mott's apple juice
* 2 Suave for women deodorants
* 2 packs of Hefty styrofoam plates

It was a great run. I saved over 50%, and I have plenty of juice now! Gotta love some cheap grape juice!!!
